44 - Midvale Stings Baltic 34-21 (2-17-44)

DOVER - The Midvale Blue Devils (1-0) (34-17) and the Baltic Eagles (0-1) (18-29) battled through the 1st half of their game even-steven with each scoring 8 points in the 1st quarter and each picking up another 9 in the 2nd period to reach the intermission deadlocked at 17-all.

But the Eagles' scoring ace and sparkplug, Junior center Max Regula, had drawn 3 personal fouls and was removed from the game by 2nd-Year Head Coach John M. McCormick.  He remained on the bench through the entire 3rd period and the Blue Devils then jumped into the lead, scoring 4 points during the session, while holding Baltic scoreless and entered the home stretch on the long end of a 21-17 count.  Regula returned to the game in the final stanza, but Midvale's shooters found the range and banged the hoops from all angles to outscore the Eagles 13-4.

Forward Jack Rennicker of the Blue Devils led his team's attack with 19 points well spaced throughout the game, but 6 of them coming in the final quarter.  He had 9 field goals and a free throw.  Regula pitched 5 field goals for 10 points to pace Baltic.
