28 - Dundee Slams DellRoy 61-26 (3-2-28)

DOVER -  On Friday morning 4 teams took to the floor during the Eastern District Class B Basketball Tournament.  Mingo Junction whipped Carrollton 42-15 and Coshocton Sacred Heart downed Bergholz 37-30.  Then in the afternoon Holmesville hammered Newcomerstown 37-27.  The DellRoy High School Warriors gave the Dundee Bulldogs (3-1) very little opposition in the Friday matchup and Dundee copped its 1st meeting of the tournament afternoon with a 61-26 win.  The highly touted Carrollton aggregation looked absolutely helpless under fire of of boys of Head Coach W.M. Kohr of Dundee.  Starting with the whistle the Dundee Bulldogs managed to lead the DellRoy team 22-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.  At halftime they were still in the lead of a 38-10 count.  When the 3rd quarter rolled around Coach Kohr's men had mounted the total of 50-19 and the Bulldog team was merely toying with the Warrior outfit.

Senior Center Lester Price led the Dundee squad with 10 field goals and 4 fouls for a total of 24 points, while Senior forward Glen Wilds was the other Bulldog scoring ace with 9 field goals and a trio of free shots for 21 points.  Ruppert, DellRoy's star, was the high point man for the losers with a trio of action buckets and a quintet of fouls for 11 points.
